der gestrige Sonntag hatte 3 nennenswerte Ereignisse zu bieten.
►Weil ich ja am Montag spontan einen freien Tag genehmigt bekommen hatte um meine Schwester noch ein wenig zu sitten, war ich gestern diesen Tag nachholen. Man was fuer verschwendete Zeit. Man sagt ja eigentlich immer, dass so ein entspannter, ruhiger Tag auf der Arbeit auch ganz cool ist, aber wenn dann so gar nichts los ist....puhhhhhhhhh
► In der Mittagspause bin ich dann zum Fluss - Liffey- gegangen. Dort fand dann heute puenktlich um 12 Uhr der Weltrekordversuch im Riverdance statt. Ich bekamm einen reativ guten Platz und konnte somit das Spektakel hautnah verfolgen.
Dancers set Riverdance world record in Dublin
Irish dancers have set a world record in
Dublin for the longest Riverdance line.
More than 2,000 people from 163 dance
schools in 44 countries gathered on the banks of the River Liffey on Sunday.
The previous record of 652 people dancing in a
continuous line was held by Nashville, Tennessee in the United States.
Dancers from as far away as Mexico, Uzbekistan
and Japan took part.
The Dublin performance was led by New Yorker
Jean Butler, the lead dancer in the first ever show of Riverdance in 1994.
The world record attempt was organised as part
of The Gathering, a year-long tourism drive to encourage people from around the
world with Irish links to visit the country.
Locally organised events have been held in
villages, towns and cities throughout the Republic of Ireland throughout the
year.
"I am delighted to have had the
opportunity to celebrate The Gathering through Irish dance with thousands of
people over the course of this weekend," Ms Butler said.
"Riverdance has played a big role in my
life but it has also played a big part in bringing the joy of Irish dance and
music to many people throughout the world."
The exact number of dancers who lined the River
Liffey around the Samuel Beckett Bridge was verified by Guinness World Records.
A spokeswoman for the organisers said more than
2,000 people were on the streets dancing but invigilators could only process
the 1,693 in time for the record attempt.
► Am Abend besuchten wir dann fast alle den Johnnie Fox's Pub. Hoch oben in den Dublin Mountains steht einer von Irlands "höchsten und ältesten Pubs". Neben den, mit viel altem Krempel dekorierten, schön gestalteten Zimmern ist der Johnny Fox Pub auch für die ausgezeichneten Speisen bekannt. Besonders Fisch und Seafood-Gerichte sind wohl zu empfehlen.
Da es etwas schwirig ist dort hin zu gelangen, organisierten die Jungs 2 Taxi. Alles klappte prima.

Also und ich muss sagen, dass ich wahrscheinlich wirklich noch nie so gutes Seafood gegessen habe. Grosse Klasse.

Zum Tagesabschluss schnell noch jemanden den Fotoapperat in die Handgedrueckt und fertig ist der Gruppenschnappschuss.
